Dokolo District Local Government has welcomed a new Chief Administrative Officer, Oryomo Grangfil Omonda, who has been transferred from Butaleja District. He replaces Godfrey Ogwang Okello, who retired after reaching the age of 60.

The handover ceremony took place during a council meeting at the Dokolo District Council Hall. Outgoing Chief Administrative Officer Godfrey Ogwang Okello expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and praised the cooperation and teamwork he received from stakeholders during his tenure.

Ogwang Okello, who served in various districts including Arua, Yumbe, Gulu, Amuru, Amolatar, Lira, and finally Dokolo, thanked the Ugandan government for the chance to contribute to public service.

Omonda, the new Chief Administrative Officer, pledged his commitment to implementing council resolutions and called for cooperation and teamwork between political leaders and technical staff to ensure effective service delivery. He also warned technical staff with poor conduct to change their behavior, or face disciplinary action.

Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Peter Emmanuel Ogwayu commended Ogwang Okello for the legacy he left behind, particularly his leadership in both administrative and humanitarian matters.

James Otoo Apili, the LCV Chairperson, also praised the outgoing Chief Administrative Officer for his exemplary work and leadership, emphasizing the need for unity and collaboration among district staff.
