Dokolo District Officials Call for Unity and Transparency in Climate Smart Agriculture Project Implementation

Dokolo – Dr. Richard Enyang, the District Production Officer of Dokolo, has called for strengthened cooperation and information sharing among implementing partners of the Climate Smart Agriculture Transformation Project in the district.
Speaking on Thursday afternoon during a meeting with district extension workers and community development officers from various sub-counties, held at the Dokolo District Headquarters, Dr. Enyang emphasized the need for collaboration in order to ensure successful implementation of the project aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and production.
“We are working towards building the capacity of our teams and equipping them with the necessary skills to drive the project forward,” Dr. Enyang said. “This cooperation is essential for the smooth implementation of activities such as the construction of a modern laboratory at the district headquarters and the rehabilitation of access roads to ease transportation.”
Dr. Patrick Ofondo, the District Veterinary Officer and focal point person for the project, revealed that a total of 158 groups have been submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries (MAAIF) for consideration under the program. Initial mobilization and sensitization activities have already been completed from the district level to the grassroots.
“All registered groups and individuals will be required to contribute co-funding based on the type of project they choose whether in crops, fisheries, livestock farming, black soldier fly production, or apiculture,” Dr. Ofondo explained.
Francis Ogwal Nam, the Secretary for Community-Based Services and Natural Resources, urged all partners involved to demonstrate commitment and ensure active participation to extend the project’s benefits to the grassroots communities.
Geoffrey Samuel Okaka, the Senior Agricultural Officer of Dokolo District, appealed to implementers to uphold transparency and provide beneficiaries with all necessary information before registration.
Meanwhile, Sarah Elwor, the Community Development Officer of Kangai Town Council, emphasized the need for ongoing community mobilization and sensitization. She encouraged extension workers and CDOs to serve as ambassadors of the project in their respective areas.
The Climate Smart Agriculture Transformation Project aims to increase resilience, productivity, and income for smallholder farmers across the district through sustainable and innovative farming practices.
