Dr Tanga Odoi: NRM has no interest in fronting Dr. Rosemary Alwoc Ogwal
The chairperson of the NRM's Electoral Commission, Dr Tanga Odoi says the party has no interest in fronting Dr. Rosemary Alwoc Ogwal, daughter to the late Dokolo district woman Member of Parliament, Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal ahead of the forthcoming bye election.
Speaking to Radio Qfm news desk on Wednesday evening, the vocal Dr. Tanga Odoi stated that the NRM party has a flag bearer for Dokolo district by-elections whose contract runs up to 2026.
Recently, there were rumours indicating that the ruling party was trying to convince Dr. Rosemary Alwoc Ogwal to front her in the Dokolo district by election to replace the departed former iconic legislator Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal.
"We do not have any plans to buy a flag bearer from another party because NRM already has a flagbearer called Adongo Janet Rose Elau", said Odoi.
The Uganda's Independent Electoral Commission spokesperson Mr. Bukenya Paul reveals that the new members of the commission have all been sworn in office and according to him, the whole process of a successful by-election now begins.
"Our first work as the new commission will be to organise a successful by- election for Woman Representative of Dokolo district and very soon the road MP will be out", Bukenya noted.
