268 Candidates Turn Up for Police Recruitment in Oyam District

268 candidates turned up for the police recruitment exercise in Oyam District, out of the 288 who had been shortlisted.

The North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson, SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, confirmed the figures in a statement released on Monday afternoon through social media. He noted that 20 candidates failed to show up for the exercise.

SP Okema also revealed that among the candidates were 10 individuals with shared names—five name duplications in total—but they were distinguished by their National Identification Numbers (NINs). One individual, identified as Akol Henry Moses, was found with forged documents and was directed to record a statement at CPS.

The recruitment exercise was overseen by the head of the team from Police Headquarters, ACP Sserunjogi Eddie, and his deputy SSP Doka Rashid, the Regional Police Commander for North Kyoga. The briefing was also attended by the Resident District Commissioner, the LCV Chairperson, the District Internal Security Officer, and the District Police Commander.

According to SP Okema, the head of the recruitment team congratulated all shortlisted candidates and outlined the recruitment process. This includes verification of documents, registration, physical fitness tests, an aptitude test, medical examination, and finally, an oral interview.
