ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! FDC President Calls for Akena to Stop Chasing Good Leaders

By MOSES OLET EMOR

As the Dokolo district by-election draws near, the political atmosphere is heating up with the FDC party president, Patrick Oboi Amuriat, speaking out against UPC party's president.

Political party presidents are not holding back their fists when it comes to selling and defending their candidates, resulting into them throwing jibes at each other.

Amuriat, in a recent campaign rally, urged the people of Dokolo to reject UPC's candidate, who is being backed by party president Jimmy Akena.

Amuriat's strong statement against Akena's candidate, according to him, it is because Akena was responsible for chasing out of Lira City(then Municipality), a highly respectable leader - late Cecilia Ogwal, and has not given up to trail "Atat" Cecilia even after death.

Amuriat further emphasized that Akena has shown time and again that he does not want good leaders in the region.

He noted that after Akena realizing that late Cecilia Ogwal's daughter Dr Alwoc Ogwal Austin Rosemary is coming to replace her late mother again Akena has come to Dokolo to chase her.

The late Cecilia Ogwal's daughter, Dr Alwoc Ogwal Austin Rosemary, is now running for the Dokolo district Parliamentary seat under the FDC party.

Amuriat, while campaigning for her in Odeo primary school in Adok Sub county, urged the people to honor her mother's legacy by voting for her.

He said that most of her late mother's initiatives were being funded by Dr Rosemary, indicating that she is well-equipped and committed to carrying on her mother's work.

Moses Okot B'tek, the FDC party Legal Secretary also expressed confidence in Dr Rosemary's victory.

He stated that the overwhelming support and numbers being received by their candidate are a clear sign of victory in the upcoming by-election.

Moreover, the FDC party's strong stance against UPC's candidate is a clear indication of their unwavering

support for Dr Rosemary.
