A total of 250 party delegates from Dokolo District are meeting to elect the official party flag bearer.
UPC to Unveil Flagbearer Today
Opposition Party, Uganda People’s Congress is today expected to unveil her flag bearer as the election day nears.
The party is currently holding a District Conference to elect the flag bearer with the district conference constituting of the district executive committee, constituency, and 12 delegates from the sub-counties and parishes in Dokolo district.
A total of 250 party delegates from Dokolo District are meeting to elect the official party flag bearer.
In the 2021 general elections, the party rallied support towards Sarah Aguti Nyangkori as flag bearer.
The seat of the Dokolo Woman MP fell vacant following the death of Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal on 18th/1/2024.
Now, the aspirants include; Ms. Sarah Aguti Nyangkori of UPC, Ms. Janet Rose Adongo Elau (NRM), and Ms. Harriet Ageno Nenidiro(NUP) and Dr Rosemary Alwoc (FDC).
Others who are standing as Independent candidates include; Rebecca Arao, Beatrice Molly Abang, Dr Hanna Grace Lalam and Ms Irene Amongi Ajwika.
The electoral commission has now declared 21st March 2024 as polling day.
