Namboole Stadium to Close for Renovations: Hoima Stadium to Host National Team Events

Namboole Stadium is set to close for its second phase of renovations in September, following the Cranes' FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Somalia. The construction will be managed by MS-Summa, which is currently working on the Hoima City stadium, taking over from the UPDF engineering brigade.
With Namboole unavailable, any upcoming National Team events will shift to Hoima Stadium, which is expected to be ready in time. This urgency explains the rapid progress on the new facility.
The renovations at Namboole will include several significant changes:
~ The Presidential suite will be expanded to accommodate nine heads of state.
~ VIP lounges will undergo refurbishment.
~ The seating capacity will increase from 38,000 to over 40,000.
~ A new media tribune and mixed zone will be added.
~ Dressing rooms will be relocated to the western side of the stadium, along with extensive roof work.
~ Plans also include the construction of a multi-purpose indoor arena.
These upgrades aim to enhance the stadium's facilities and improve the experience for both athletes and spectators.
