Government Chief Whip Obua Seeks NRM Vice Chair Position in Northern Uganda

Denis Hamson Obua, the Government Chief Whip, has officially launched his campaign poster, signaling his intention to lead the NRM in the region. At 45 years old, he is the youngest minister at the Cabinet level and currently chairs the NRM Parliamentary Caucus due to his ministerial role.

On February 10, 2025, Obua announced his candidacy for the Vice Chairperson seat of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party in Northern Uganda. This position was last held by the late Hon. Jacob Oulanya. 

Obua has a strong background in public service. He has previously served as the Commissioner of Parliament, State Minister of Sports, and Chairperson of the Science and Technology Committee. His dedication to his work earned him recognition as the best-performing Member of Parliament in 2010, achieving a perfect 100% rating.

As he steps into this new role, Obua aims to continue his commitment to the NRM and the people of Northern Uganda.
