5 Pupils miss out on  2024 PLE Exams

DOKOLO - Five learners in Dokolo district are reported to have missed writing their first two papers on the ongoing Primary Leaving Examination that officially kicked off on Wednesday November 6th, 2024. Dokolo district registered to sit for the 2024 PLE Exams.

David Livingstone Okello, the District Inspector of Schools while addressing media on Wednesday regarding the ongoing PLE Exams confirmed that the examination begun on time at all the centres in Dokolo district.

Despite the smooth beginning, IOS Okello however noted that two candidates failed to turn up for their papers on Wednesday.

Okello said, “We have registered one missing candidate from Angwecibange P/S, one candidate from Abenyo P/S and one candidate in Ilong P/S while two candidates from Iguli Primary school”.

No explanation was provided to the school authority.

Okello also cautioned the surrounding communities including bars and churches to desist from playing loud music citing that this can interrupted with the candidate’s level of concentration.

He further appealed to parents to restrict the movement of their children during the long holiday season in order to avoid exposure to bad peer groups that can jeopardised their future.

Santos Okuja, the Secretary for Health and Education, Dokolo district who doubles as an area Councillor representing Kangai town council to the district council also noted that all government - aided primary schools and private schools began the examination successfully without any interferences reported. 

“Monitoring has been done in Dokolo Primary School, Akolodong Primary School, and Kachung Primary School to ensure learners sat their papers”, he added.

Okuja also appreciated the school authorities from desisting from any form of malpractice while encouraging learners to have hope and write their papers with confidence.

Betty Agweng, the Head teacher of Iguli Primary School in Amwoma Sub County confirmed that 2 candidates failed to turn up for the Wednesday papers out of the 67 registered learners.

She however encouraged parents to engage their children in healthy domestic work and farm activities that can keep them busy during this long holiday season.

Just like Iguli Primary School, the head teacher of Abenyo Primary School in Dokolo Sub County, Sadick Yusuf Munu noted that out of 118 candidates registered candidates, only 117 turned up for their papers.
