Wisdom High School Stuns Dr. Obote College as USSSA Lango Zone Kicks Off

The 2025 USSSA Lango Zone Secondary Schools football championship is officially underway, and already, the competition has delivered surprises and standout performances.
Wisdom High School from Kole District made headlines on the opening day with a narrow but impactful 1-0 win over football giants Dr. Obote College in Match 1. Their disciplined play and strategic execution have quickly positioned them as early tournament favorites.
Match Day 1 also saw Otwal SS thrash Apac Seed SS 3-0 in a dominant display, while Dokolo Progressive edged past Amac Mod with a 3-1 win, proving that this year’s edition will be both unpredictable and competitive.
The tournament features teams from nine districts and Lira City, each fielding two schools in the boys’ and girls’ categories. Over the next week, these schools will battle it out for a chance to represent Lango at the national championships—boys in Ngora and girls in Bukedea.
Notable schools in this year’s lineup include Lira Town College, King James Comprehensive, Faith SS, Chegere SS, Maruzi Seed, Aculbanya SS, and Fr. Aloysius SS.
As the action unfolds, all eyes will be on Wisdom High School to see if their dream start translates into a historic finish.
