Te-Obwolo Yaweeh Celebrates Community Support and Upcoming Visit from Minister Acheng

March 10, 2025 – The Te-Obwolo Yaweeh Pentecostal Church was abuzz with excitement during its second service on Sunday, March 9, 2025, as church members celebrated support from Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Acheng, the Minister of Health and Woman Member of Parliament for Lira City. Pastor Johnson took the opportunity to express his gratitude for Dr. Acheng’s tireless efforts in advocating for local services, declaring, "Whoever does not appreciate what Dr. Jane Ruth Acheng has done is blind both physically and spiritually!"

Pastor Johnson Okello highlighted the advancements made at Lira Regional Referral Hospital (LRRH), where the community benefits from state-of-the-art health machines. "Even if at times drugs get finished, when you go there, you get diagnosed fully," he assured the congregation.

Adding to the spirit of generosity, Mr. Ebuk Sam, affectionately known as Sam Samu, made a pledge to support the church by donating two speaker tops and ten jerrycan of undercoat paint for the unfinished church building. His commitment to enhancing the church’s facilities was met with applause and appreciation from the congregation.

In a moment that sparked jubilation among the church members, Sam Samu announced that Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Acheng would join them for prayers on Sunday, March 16, 2025. This news was met with cheers and excitement, as the community eagerly anticipates the minister's visit.

During the service, the Te-Obwolo community took the opportunity to request Sam Samu to convey their urgent need for improved road conditions. They specifically highlighted the access road that branches off from the Lira-Aloi highway and crosses to Ayago, which has become increasingly difficult to navigate.

The congregation is hopeful that with Dr. Acheng's attention to their needs, the deteriorating road conditions will soon be addressed, improving access for all community members. As the date of the minister's visit approaches, the Te-Obwolo Yaweeh Pentecostal Church stands united, ready to welcome their leader and advocate for the improvements that will benefit their community.
