Lira, Uganda – In a commanding display of talent, St. Mary Magdalene's girls' football team triumphed over Lira University Girls with a resounding 7-0 victory on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. This match served as a crucial preparation for the upcoming USSSA Lango Zonal meet, set to take place from April 7 to April 12, 2025, at Lira City, with the St. Mary Magdalene campus hosting the girls' category.

The game was a showcase of individual brilliance, particularly from Flavia Anyinge and Mary Alaro, both of whom netted hat tricks, while Irene Alum contributed with a single goal. The match not only highlighted the offensive prowess of St. Mary Magdalene but also solidified their status as the reigning champions of the Lira City USSSA ball game 1 for girls, having dominated the tournament with an astonishing tally of 68 goals across just seven games, all while maintaining a clean sheet.

Mary Alaro's exceptional performance throughout the tournament saw her emerge as the top scorer, finding the back of the net 26 times. Her ability to score crucial goals has made her a vital asset to the team as they look to disapprove Acaba SS, the defending Champion in the upcoming zonal meet.
