Red Hot LCC FC Hits Red Devo Half a Dozen!

Lira City, Uganda – In a stunning display of football prowess on Wednesday 2nd April 2025, Lira City Council FC (LCC FC) kicked off the second round of the Northern Regional League 2024/25 season with a commanding 6-0 victory over Red Devo FC, affectionately known as The Fishermen. The match took place at the iconic Lango College playground, better known as Rhino Park, and left fans buzzing with excitement.
The first half of the match was a gritty affair, with Red Devo FC showing remarkable physicality and determination to hold their ground. However, their efforts were undermined when Ambrose Awany, also known as Kinga, netted the first goal just before halftime, leaving the visitors trailing 1-0.
As the second half commenced, LCC FC unleashed their attacking flair, turning the game into a spectacle. The home side scored five additional goals, showcasing their offensive capabilities and teamwork. Awany continued his impressive performance, adding another goal to his tally, while Emmanuel Okeng, Solomon Omeri, and debutant Toolit, who replaced Awany, each contributed to the scoreline with a goal. Toolit’s two goals marked a memorable debut, further solidifying LCC FC's dominance.
Veteran striker Dickens Okwir Diara played a crucial role in the victory, providing three assists that highlighted his playmaking skills and experience on the pitch. His contributions were instrumental in guiding the team to this resounding win.
With this important victory, LCC FC now boasts 23 points in the league standings, positioning themselves firmly in second place, just two points behind the leaders, Northern Gateway SC, who have 25 points but have played one game less. This win marks a significant turnaround for LCC FC, who struggled in the early stages of the season but are now finding their rhythm and confidence.
