SP. Okema calls on stakeholders' Input as Murder Case in North Kyoga Rise
Preliminary findings indicate that on the 15th Feb 2024 at around 0100hours, both the suspect Morrish Ego aged 24-year-old and the deceased, Isaac Orima were at Amuca trading center where they were spending leisure time.
The territorial police in Lira-City West Division are investigating the suspected murder of Isaac Orima aged 21years. Orima who was a farmer and resident of Owiti cell, Amuca ward Lira-City West Division was allegedly murdered on Monday 15th Feb 2024 at around 0130 hours from Owiti cell, Amuca ward in Lira-City West Division.
Preliminary findings indicate that on the 15th Feb 2024 at around 0100hours, both the suspect Morrish Ego aged 24-year-old and the deceased, Isaac Orima were at Amuca trading center where they were spending leisure time.
However, they later picked up a quarrel which resulted in a fight and Ego hit Orima with a piece of timber and later he collapsed and died instantly.
A report was registered at the police in Ojwina by Benedict Adile and immediately a team of police officers from lira city west division police station led by D/OC CID together with homicide team and SOCO went to the crime scene to draw a sketch map, record statements and convey the body to Lira Regional Referral Hospital's Mortuary pending post mortem.
PRO North Kyoga Police Region, SP Patrick Jimmy Okema confirmed the incident noting that a case of murder has been registered at Lira-City West Division under CRB 173/2024 against the suspect who is already in custody.
Okema now calls upon available Non-Governmental Organisations, local leadership, clan leaders and religious leaders to interest themselves into the continued cases of murder within the region.
He cited that police are committed to seeing that justice prevails.
