RDC Barbra Akech has directed Amuda PDM SACCO leaders and the Agwata Town Council Community Development Officer (CDO) to immediately reinstate six groups of Parish Development Model (PDM) beneficiaries who were unlawfully removed from the official list.

The six groups were reportedly sidelined in violation of PDM guidelines. RDC Akech warned of legal action against SACCO leaders found to be extorting money or tampering with beneficiary lists.

Pollycap Wacha, chairperson of Amuda PDM SACCO, admitted challenges in working with the CDO’s office, blaming delays and poor communication.

He alleged that the groups were unfairly removed despite being approved in the Annual General Meeting.

However, CDO Francis Atoo defended the decision, citing the discovery of ghost names and fraudulent enrollment of unregistered groups. He said only 17 SACCO groups were legally recognized, and the additional six were added unlawfully.

Local leaders including LCII Chairperson Sarah Auma and LCIII Chairperson Tonny Obel Obala expressed frustration over the growing confusion. They accused SACCO leaders of altering lists without justification.

Town Clerk John Bosco Ogwal thanked the RDC for stepping in to resolve what had become a protracted and divisive issue.

He also blamed the local community for enabling corruption through silence and non-reporting.
