The Forum for Democratic Change party has on Wednesday 14 endorsed Dr. Rosemary as FDC flag bearer ahead of Dokolo District Woman MP by-election race.
The Electoral Commission (EC) while unveiling the road map on Monday 12 confirmed that the by-election for the position of Dokolo Woman MP will be held on March 21st, 2024.
While speaking to our reporter, the FDC Party President Patrick Oboi Amuriat says the endorsement has finally removed uncertainties that were expressed through the media and other forms of media about Dr. Alwoc's stand and determination to continue with her mother's legacy and to also hold the FDC party citing that she is a capable leader with a very high leadership argument and political understanding.
Meanwhile, the FDC chairperson for Northern Uganda James Otto Apili in an interview said that Dr. RoseMary Alwoc has all that qualifies for her to be the MP for Dokolo District since in the past, she ventured and worked closely with Imat Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal.
According to Otto Apili who is also the LC 5 for Dokolo district, Dr. RoseMary is a leader that is so passionate about education and instilling the element of togetherness and unity regardless of political affiliation is her priority.
The party expressed confidence in Alwoch saying she has exceptional quality and she is willing to continue pursuing the initiatives that her late mother was deeply passionate about.
The party urged the people of Lango, especially those in Dokolo, to see in Dr. Alwoc as a fitting successor to the late Cecilia Ogwal.
The seat fell vacant following the demise of the Dokolo Woman MP Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal who died on January 18th, 2024.
She served the district for nearly 17 years since its creation in 2006.
