Community Engagement Report: Visit by Hon. Minister of Health's Team

On Saturday, 1st March 2025, a dedicated team from the camp of Hon. Minister of Health, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, led by Sam Ebuk, also known as Sam Samu, visited Group B Pii Aceng in Adyang Opiro, Amuca, Lira City West Division. The visit was marked by an inspiring engagement focused on community empowerment, agriculture, and youth development.
During the visit, Sophia, the Chairperson of Group B Pii Aceng, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the visiting team. She commended Minister Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero for her outstanding contributions to Lira City, particularly in the health sector. Sophia highlighted the significant improvements in healthcare facilities, which have enabled women in the community to deliver safely in hospitals—a testament to the positive impact of the Minister's initiatives.

The group reaffirmed their unwavering support for Hon. Aceng and her leadership, recognizing the transformative changes she has brought to the community.
In addition to expressing gratitude, the group humbly requested further support to enhance their community's development.

He emphasized that in the past, youth were used as 'Mandala,' but this time, they will not tolerate any political games. "Aceng has delivered in the past four years, and we believe she will do even more for both the youth and the entire community." Oryema stated.
"As Ghetto Youth, we stand firmly with Dr. Aceng and will vote for her because we still need more development. We humbly request support in the form of financial assistance to boost our savings, maize seedlings, and vocational training opportunities for the youth." Added Oryema.
Benson Oyaka, Coordinator for Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero shared his strong support for the Minister, stating that while he is a staunch UPC, it doesn’t mean he holds any animosity towards NRM.

He emphasized that his unwavering support for Dr. Aceng is based on her incredible contributions to Lira City and Northern Uganda, particularly in equipping Lira Referral Hospital and improving healthcare for all.
"Aceng has already made significant strides in developing Lango and is here to stay. If there’s any MP or Minister who has truly made Uganda proud, it is Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero." Oyaka roared.
The visit concluded on a positive note, with a shared commitment to continue working together towards the betterment of the community. The team left with a renewed sense of purpose, inspired by the resilience and determination of the people of Amuca.
