Angelika Secondary School Ranks First in Lira District

In a stunning educational triumph, Angelika Secondary School has claimed the top spot in Lira District, as revealed in the recently released 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB). The school, which opened its doors in 2021, proudly announced that all 277 candidates who sat for the UCE examinations this year emerged victorious, marking a historic achievement for the institution.
Dr. Peter Oluge, the school's Director, couldn't contain his excitement. "When we started this journey in 2021 with over 400 students, I knew we were onto something special," he remarked. "To see every single one of our candidates excel is nothing short of miraculous. It’s like winning the educational lottery!"

According to the newly released rankings, Angelika Secondary School has not only topped Lira District but has also secured the 4th position in the Lango Sub-Region, 8th in Northern Uganda, and an impressive 152nd place nationwide. "We’re basically the rockstars of secondary education!" Dr. Oluge exclaimed, clearly reveling in the glory of his school's achievements.

Emanuel Okello, the star student who emerged as the best performer, earned an A in 4 subjects and a B in 5 out of the 9 subjects he took. His journey to success was not without its challenges; he nearly dropped out due to financial difficulties in the second term. "I was ready to give up, but the school believed in me," Okello shared. "Now, I feel like I’ve won an Oscar!"
Second-best performer, Immaculate Adongo, expressed her gratitude to the teachers for their unwavering support. "They were like our personal cheerleaders," she said. "They helped us academically and kept our spirits high. Without them, I might have turned into a study zombie!"

Isaac Eyup, the Director of Studies (D.O.S), credited the school's success to sheer dedication. "We put in the hours, the sweat, and maybe even a few tears," he stated. "Our candidates worked hard, and we were there to guide them every step of the way. It’s like we were training for the Olympics, but instead of gold medals, we aimed for grades!"
As the school celebrates its monumental success, it also looks to the future. A few slots are still available for incoming S.1 students eager to join the ranks of this academic powerhouse. Additionally, the school is currently accepting applications for S.5 students, who will become the pioneer A-Level cohort. "We’re not just building a school; we’re building a legacy," Dr. Oluge declared, his eyes gleaming with ambition.
