Kigezi Sub-Region Prepares for Presidential Zonal Tour

Kigezi sub-region is gearing up for the Presidential Zonal Tour, set to take place from February 12th to 15th, 2025. This tour will focus on wealth creation initiatives across the country.

On Tuesday, members of the National Organizing Committee (NOC) met with Kigezi leaders to discuss the upcoming visit of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Key figures at the briefing included Government Chief Whip Denis Hamson Obua, State Minister of Investment Evelyn Anite, and State House Comptroller Jane Barekye.

The tour aims to assess the implementation of government wealth creation programs. Activities will include visits to successful model farmers, meetings with local leaders, and a public rally to engage the community.

The NOC is chaired by Vice President Jessica Alupo, who is already in the sub-region. Other notable members include Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong, and various state ministers. Local leaders such as Minister of Information Chris Baryomunsi and State Minister of Finance Henry Musasizi are also actively involved in the preparations.
