Similarly, he also laid a wreath at Abia Technical Institute in memory of the 139 people who were murdered by Kony rebels on 4th February, 2004.

During the same tour, two party offices were officially opened including one in Alebtong Town council while the other in Akura sub county in Alebtong district.

These offices are expected to serve as coordination centers for party activities, mobilization, and recruitment in the district.

Later during his address at a gathering of party supporters at Alira primary school, Akena reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening UPC structures across the country ahead of the 2026 elections.

“Our focus is to build a solid foundation at the grassroots. These offices will enhance our ability to engage with communities, address their concerns, and push forward the UPC agenda,” he remarked.

Akena also used the occasion to call for unity among party members and urged them to work together in preparation for the upcoming elections.

“Our strength lies in our unity. Let us remain focused, work together, and ensure UPC remains a formidable force in Uganda’s politics,” he added.

The opening of these party offices is part of UPC’s broader strategy to enhance its visibility and operational capacity in different parts of the country.
