Members of Wor Mwaka Ni Village Savings and Loans Association group in Alebtong district are stranded and speechless after their millions of shillings was robbed off on gun point on Thursday.
The sad incident happened around 2pm on Thursday November 30 as Executives of the group among which were; Chairperson Tom Omara Orech, Finance Secretary Party Okwir and Alexi Okello, a member, went to Lira City to withdraw 47 million shillings to distribute to it's members ahead of festivities.
However, on reaching Ogini hill in Aloi Town Council, their plan was cut short after two men driving a vehicle blocked them and put them on gun point before grabbing and taking off with the bag that was containing the money.
The Local Council 3 chairperson, Alebtong Town Council, Tony Ogwal confirmed this incident noting that cases of robberies are alarming.
He also cautioned the business Community to be conscious this festive season.
