Wonyaci Odur Ebii bans activities of the Electoral Commission set for his successor

Lango Paramount Chief, Yosam Odur Ebii has banned activities of the Electoral Commission under Lango Cultural Foundation.

Recently, Yosam Odur Ebii appointed members of the Electoral Commission who were later approved by the council of “Owitong” with the mandate of organising the election of the new Won-nyaci of Lango. 

However, in his letter dated 4th December 2023, His Royal Highness Yosam Odur Ebii suspended activities of the Electoral Commission until further notice saying he has never written to the Speaker of the general Assembly notifying him of the Vacant Position of Won nyaci.

The statement also reveals that the commission members started carrying out duties before meeting him to appoint the chairperson who should have been their leader.

Odur Ebii further stated that all proposals and resolutions that have been coming from the General Assembly of Owitong are illegal since Cabinet Ministers have not been in place.

According to him, if there is going to be any election of the new Won-nyaci, then all the people of Lango must be given the opportunity to vote but not only 15 Members from different Clans.

The furious Odur Yosam noted that Eng Dr Moses Odongo Okune, the leader of Parallel government has never written to him acknowledging his apology and resignation.
