Uganda Wildlife Marathon 2025 Set to Support Children of Fallen Rangers

LIRA – The Uganda Wildlife Marathon (UWM) 2025 is set to take place on Sunday, 2nd March 2025, at Akii Bua Stadium, Lira City, starting at 6:30 AM.
The marathon, organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, aims to raise funds to support the education of children of fallen rangers.
This event, coinciding with World Wildlife Day (March 3rd), is backed by organizations including the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), and other conservation partners.
The marathon provides an opportunity for Ugandans to contribute to wildlife conservation efforts while honoring rangers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Registration categories include; 1,000,000 for corporate teams, 20,000 for Individual runners, student teams (20 members) at UGX 300,000, student teams (50 members) at UGX 750,000 while individual students (Primary & Secondary) will pay UGX 15,000
Designated centers in Kampala including (UWA, MTWA, WCU, AUTO) and Lira (Unity Radio, Lira City Sports Office) have been opened for registration.
