Two Die while Others nurse injuries in Kwania Fatal Accident
Preliminary findings indicate that vehicle Reg No UAX 981Q Mitsubishi Fuso green in color overturned on the 16th Feb 2024 at around 05:00 hours at Alebe in Aboko parish along Aduku-Apac road.
Two people have been confirmed dead while two others have sustained serious injuries following a nasty accident.
Preliminary findings indicate that vehicle Reg No UAX 981Q Mitsubishi Fuso green in color overturned on the 16th Feb 2024 at around 05:00 hours at Alebe in Aboko parish along Aduku-Apac road.
It's alleged that the lights of the said vehicle went off while moving hence the driver lost control, went off road and overturned. The vehicle is suspected to have been loaded with sacks of maize which is believed to have fallen on the two killing them instantly.
Police in Kwania District and traffic officers immediately went and documented the scene and picked the two dead bodies for postmortem at Apac Main Hospital.
North Kyoga Regional Police spokesperson SP Patrick Jimmy Okema has identified the deceased as Fred Akiiza and Walter Omara while the two others who got seriously injured rushed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital for treatment.
SP Okema described the incident as very unfortunate thereby appealing to drivers, riders to always check the conditions of their vehicles before going on road.
