In a calculative pre-Christmas operation, law enforcement agencies in Soroti executed a widespread crackdown resulting in the arrest of over 100 suspected criminals.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Nachuha Damalie led an operation to eliminate threats posed by individuals believed to be terrorizing the local community.

Assistant Commissioner Nachuha, who heads the Regional Police Command (RPC), highlighted the primary objectives of the operation. "Our mission is to remove criminals from the streets, enhance public safety, and ensure a secure environment for residents during the festive season," she stated.

The crackdown unfolded across various neighbourhoods in Soroti, with law enforcement personnel employing strategic measures to apprehend individuals linked to criminal activities. The operation comes at a critical time, as communities prepare to celebrate Christmas and welcome the New Year.

Frank Tanguvu the regional CID East Kyoga said the arrested individuals are suspected of engaging in various criminal activities, including but not limited to theft, assault, and drug-related offenses. The operation reflects the commitment of the security forces to proactively address crime and maintain law and order.

The suspects will now undergo due legal processes, and charges will be filed based on the evidence gathered during the operation. 

Authorities encourage residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement as part of ongoing efforts to maintain a secure environment.
