Northern Regional League 2024/25 Kickoff Postponed

The Northern Regional League match day one was scheduled for this weekend, Saturday 26th October 2024 at various venues across the Northern Region Football Association's area of jurisdiction; Acholi Sub Region (Elephant group) and Lango Sub Region (Rhino group). With the league set to roll on in a fortnight, the Football Association has witnessed a twist of events and all match day one games have been postponed to an unannounced date.

"Greetings from NRFA Competitions department. This letter serves to inform you that the league match day one (MD1) matches have all been postponed..." Patrick Okot, Chairperson Competition for Northern Region Football Association's letter partly reads.

Reasons for suspension includes; 

1. Very low registration of club officials by clubs on Competition Management System (CMS). 

2. The region is yet to train and enroll all regional league referees onto the CMS system this Saturday 26th October 2024. 3. Licenses for some clubs are not ready since they do not meet the minimum requirements.

4. Low turn up in payment of subscription and Licenses fees.

Patrick Okot, Chairperson Competition - Northern Region Football Association argued different club secretariat to continue doing corrections on players details to attain minimum required licenses number.

The competition department fixed Saturday 26th October 2024 as the deadline for making the necessary changes and corrections to obtain and submit the minimum licensing requirements.

The Northern Regional League is set to effectively continue as scheduled in the fixtures for match day two (MD2) on Saturday 2nd November 2024; while postponed matches shall be rescheduled for later dates.
