KWANIA - Masjid Bilal mosque has been officially handed over to the office of the Supreme Mufti Kibuli and received by the Supreme Kahdi Greater Lango Supreme District who immediately handed it over to the Supreme Kadhi Greater Apac Sheikh Abas Etwop.
Masjid Bilal mosque located at Abongorwot A Village, Abongomola Sub County, Kwania District, was constructed by the Pakistan Community in Lira and is headed by their President Mr. Atiq Nawaz.
The mosque was handed over to the office of the Supreme Mufti Kibuli and received on behalf of the Supreme Mufti by the Supreme Kadhi Greater Lango Supreme District.
Established on a piece of land worth 2.5 million, the mosque is worth 43 million. The place of worship also hosts a water point (borehole) worth 6 million. The mosque is also fitted with new woollen carpets and a brand new public address system.
The guest of Honour, Supreme Kadhi Greater Lango Supreme District, Sheikh Balinda Yusuf Muhammad who attended the handover event donated a box of 30 copies of Qur'an and some clothes.
Since the recent construction of the mosque began, more than 20 locals have embraced Islam, while 15 others embraced Islam upon commissioning.
