Lira City West division councillors petition Speaker Daniel Okello

Lira City West division councillors have petitioned their Speaker Daniel Okello demanding him to call for an emergency council meeting to determine the fate of the division town Clerk.

The councillors led by Kirombe and Junior quarters ward councillor, Lydia Akello said the undersigned councillors in the petition derived their power from third Schedule Part IV, Regulations 31 of the Local Government act CAP 246 that empowers them to petition the Speaker to call for emergency council meeting.

In their petition, the councillors want to refer back to the appointing authority, the Town Clerk for West Division, Emmanuel Komakech following several accusations levied against

him.
