A mother and her four children perished in a car accident along Bulambuli-Kapchorwa road on Boxing Day.
The accident occurred at Towei slope, Kapchorwa district after the vehicle Reg. No. UBD 074J, in which they were travelling, swerved off the road and rolled down the cliff, killing four children on the spot and injuring two others.
The victims were identified as Goreti Najja, 35; Isabela Isabit, 8; Mark Okay, 10; Ivan Busulwa, 10 and Solomon Kibirige, 9.
Abdul Aziz Mwanga, an eyewitness and local resident, revealed that the mother to the children was rushed to Kapchorwa Hospital where she breathed her last.
The family was returning from a Christmas holiday tour in Kapchorwa district where they had spent a few days and were destined back to their home in Rukungiri, before meeting their tragic end.
Mwanga says the team was meant to have lunch at their in-law, Alex Chemonges's home before proceeding to Kampala.
