5 months later, Science Head Teachers have no salary increment yet

With five months down the road, Secondary school Science Head teachers and Deputies have decried delayed response from the Ministry of Public Service to effect their salary increment.

Recently in his letter dated 1st July 2023 addressed to the Minister of Public Service Wilson Muruuli Mukasa, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni intimated that the education minister had revealed the challenges of secondary school science head teachers who needed to be paid the same as other science teachers.

However five months later, they have not received a response nor have their salaries been enhanced.

According to the government policy on the enhancement of science teachers salary, science teachers with degrees take home Shs4 million and diploma holders Shs3 million meanwhile their counterparts in the arts have remained at shs900, 000.
