Lira City West Division Speaker, Daniel Okello demands for accountability of the previous financial year, before the approval of the 2024/2025 budget.
Speaking during the council meeting as they laid before council, the draft Budget for Financial Year 2024/2025.This happened at the Lira City West council hall on Wednesday 17th April, 2024.
Speaker Daniel Okello insisted before the council approves the new budget on May 31st 2024 that the Secretary for Finance should present to the council the accountability of the Financial Year 2023/2024.
Okello urged fellow councilors to do their best in scrutinizing this year's budget, emphasizing if they don't perform in terms of service delivery, it may affect them politically in the 2026 general election.

Deputy Mayor Lira city, Amolo Rose Ongom while laying the draft before council said priorities in the next financial year will focus on addressing the gaps in Education, Health, Road infrastructure and Community Wealthfare of locals across Lira city west division.
Rose Ongom further confirmed that the next Financial Year will also plan for the upgrade of Ober Health Center that was recently accessed by the Ministry of Health.
