Lango College Triumphs Over Moto's Tasha High School in USSSA Opener

Lira City, Uganda – In a thrilling start to the Lira City USSSA ball game 1, Lango College showcased their football prowess by defeating Moto's Tasha High School 2-0. The match, held at the Erute Primary School Playground, was marked by an impressive display of skill and strategy from the Lango College team, led by coach Anthony Odongo, affectionately known as "Giggs."

The action began early in the first half when Innocent Olet found the back of the net just 17 minutes into the game, sending the Lango College supporters into a frenzy. The excitement continued as Oscar Okello doubled the lead just seven minutes later, solidifying Lango's dominance on the field.

Despite Tasha High School's attempts to regroup in the second half, the team struggled to penetrate Lango College’s solid defense. The match ended with a score of 2-0, marking a disappointing start for Tasha High School, coached by Moto Ronald Tobby, who is still seeking his first victory since taking the reins.

Tobby's record in the lead-up to the tournament has been less than stellar, with a staggering 6-1 loss to Elite FC and draws against COTN, Ngetta Community, and Lango College. The team had high hopes after their last friendly encounter with Lango College, which ended in a dramatic 3-3 draw where they squandered a 3-0 lead within just 20 minutes.

In contrast, Lango College appears to have learned from their previous experiences, including a strong performance in last year’s FUFA TV Cup where they reached the semi-finals. Their preparation seems to have paid off, as they displayed a disciplined and tactical approach throughout the match.

Looking ahead, Lango College is set to face Lira City Comprehensive School on the second day of the tournament at 2 PM, while Tasha High School will look to bounce back against Odokomit SS at 11 AM, both matches taking place at the Anai Primary School Playground.

As the tournament progresses, all eyes will be on Tasha High School to see if they can turn their fortunes around and if Lango College can maintain their winning streak.
