Defending Champion Mentor SS Kicks Off Lira City USSSA with Whopping 4-0 Win

Lira City, Uganda – The excitement of the 2025 Lira City USSSA tournament was detectable as defending champions Mentor SS showcased their dominance on the field with a stunning 4-0 victory in their opening match. The much-anticipated game against Nissi College unfolded at the Anai Primary School Playground late in the evening of Friday 14th March 2025, where fans were treated to a display of skill, strategy, and sportsmanship.

The first half proved to be a tight affair, with both teams battling for control. However, it was Mentor SS who struck first, with Gabriel Ogwal finding the back of the net just minutes into the game. His early goal set the tone for the match, igniting the crowd and giving his teammates a much-needed boost of confidence.

As the second half commenced, Mentor SS turned up the heat. Emmanuel Ochepa, who was brought in as a substitute, made an immediate impact by doubling the score with his very first touch on the ball. The young forward's quick thinking and precision left the Nissi College defense scrambling.
