The territorial police in APAC District have responded to an incident following a student’s riot at APAC Seed Secondary School in APAC District following a report registered through phone calls by Mr. James Akeba aged 48 yrs. the Head teacher on the 23rd April 2024 and personally reported at Apac CPS at around 02:49 hours.

Preliminary findings indicate that students at the School destroyed properties such as windows and glass door shutters, the urinal, the roof and also set fire on the compound demanding to be given holidays.

The situation calmed down until morning at around 9:00 hours when information came that one of the students identified as Alele Walter S.2 was injured and was quickly rushed and admitted at Apac Nursing Home where he's receiving treatment.

North Kyoga police spokesperson, SP Patrick Jimmy Okema confirmed the incident. However, he says the cause of the strike is still under investigation.

He condemned very strongly the actions by the students of destroying the School properties there by challenging them to air their genuine grievances through the students’ leadership for redress.

According to Okema, no arrests have been made and the school has been temporarily closed pending decisions from The Board of Governor.

Apac Seed Secondary School became operational in January 2020. It is located in Lango center village, Abedi parish, Apac sub county, Apac district.
