Gulu Boxing Club Records Successful Weight- Ins

Gulu Boxing Club members have arrived safely in Kampala for the Open National Championship.
A team of seven boxers under Gulu Boxing Club recently sailed in the weight -ins exercise to put a footmark in the National open games. The verification exercise was conducted on Saturday 20th April, 2024.
The seven participants include; Patience Anifa Sharia (46kgs), Allan Kayondo (57 Kgs), Brain Otema (63kgs), Ivan Ochan (60kgs).
Others are Ogen Rwot Mayanja (67kgs),ppppp Denis Okello wii Lee (71kgs) and Sunday Opiyo (75kgs).
The National open is recommended for every club and boxers. It serves as one of the highest level tournament in the country that offers participation in the National open offers, gateway to the national team.
Okello Denis Wii Lee who joined Gulu Boxing Club from Lango is among the many hoping to show case his talent and resilience in the ring.
He however reported challenges of poor feeding due to limited reources .
Okello who weighs 71kgs will be competing with three others.
"I am sure of excelling in the game . I didnit make it to games this year unlike last year when i missed the chance", said Okello.
The boxing tournament will run from April 22nd – 26th 2024 at the National council of sports Arena in Lugogo.
Boxers from diverse clubs across the nation have confirmed readiness in the competition.
Recently, Lukanya boxing Club are the defending championship for the National Open Boxing.
Else where, UPDF boxing Club won the Elite category while Cobap boxing Club emerged best in the Youth category.
