Angelika Secondary School Celebrates Pioneer UCE Success with Thanksgiving Prayer

Barr Ayira, Lira District – February 23, 2025 – Angelika Secondary School marked a historic milestone on Sunday, February 23, 2025, by hosting a vibrant celebration on its campus in Barr Ayira, Lira District. The event was held in honor of the school's inaugural Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results, where all 277 candidates who sat for the exam achieved outstanding results, qualifying them for A-Level admission.

The main celebrant, Dr. Peter Andrew Opio Ayira, emphasized the importance of prioritizing faith in all endeavors as he addressed the gathered students, parents, and faculty. Dr. Opio Ayira, who previously led dedicated prayers for the S.4 candidates in 2024, brought along the scripts from his earlier summons, highlighting his commitment to the spiritual well-being of the school's students.

Dr. Peter Oluge, the School Director, expressed his gratitude to the parents for their trust in the newly established institution, which began its journey in 2020 with over 400 students in S.1. He noted that the 277 successful candidates were part of this pioneering group, showcasing the school's dedication to academic excellence over the years.

In a show of support for high achievers, Dr. Oluge announced that the top two candidates, Emmanuel Okello and Immaculate Adongo, would receive full bursaries for their A-Level studies. He further encouraged a competitive spirit by pledging similar support to any other student who surpasses their performance at A-Level.

The celebration also recognized the hard work of the teaching staff. Co-director Mrs. Angella Oluge honored over 20 teachers from various subjects and departments with brown envelopes as a token of appreciation for their contributions to the school's success. The teachers left the event beaming, their envelopes containing undisclosed monetary rewards.

The day culminated in a joyous atmosphere filled with merriment, soft drinks, and delicious food, as parents of former candidates traveled from across the country to partake in the festivities. The thanksgiving prayer and celebration not only marked a significant academic achievement but also fostered a sense of community and shared pride among all attendees.

As Angelika Secondary School continues to grow and thrive, the commitment to academic excellence and spiritual guidance remains at the forefront of its mission, promising a bright future for its students.
