Speaking to Q.fm news desk, the Spokesperson of the Albertine Police Region, SP. Kiiza Grace Allan confirmed the accident noting that 16 passengers sustained injuries and were later evacuated to Kiryandongo Hospital for Immediate treatment.

Police in the Albertine Police Region have intensified efforts in tracing for unidentified driver following a single serious accident.
The unfortunately incident occurred on Tuesday 13 around Katulikire, Bweyale along Kampala-Gulu high way in Kiryandongo district.
Speaking to Q.fm news desk, the Spokesperson of the Albertine Police Region, SP. Kiiza Grace Allan confirmed the accident noting that 16 passengers sustained injuries and were later evacuated to Kiryandongo Hospital for Immediate treatment.
"The single serious accident has left 16 passengers with injuries who are getting treatment at Kiryandongo Hospital. Fortunately, no deaths have been recorded", said SP. Kiiza.
SP. Kiiza has identified the injured victims as Robert Sali, 26YRS Resident of Kisasi Kampala, Bosco Ocen, a 44yrs Old Bus turn man, resident of Gulu City, Paul Omara, 31yrs Acholi R/O Kanyangonga-B Gulu City, Stella Adoti, 28yrs R/0 Wembley Barracks Kireka Kampala, Banard Opio, 21yrs R/O Pece, Margret Akull, 49yrs Sudanese National residing in Gulu, Jackline Lanyero 36yrs R/O Badege in Gulu City and Harron Obira 21yrs Student of Busoga but a resident of Bulenga, Wakiso District.
Others are Rashidah Kasana, 38yrs R/O Gulu, Stella Acayo, 36yrs, Simondo Izaruku, 28yrs, Alex Lawoko, Molly Akech,27yrs Beatrice Acayo 53yrs, David Hiriye 45yrs and Robinson Namuwanjja 33 yrs resident of Kireka Kampala.
According to him, the bus driver of Reg. No. UAR 339M lost control and later veered off the road.
He also confirmed that efforts have been intensified to apprehend the driver who is on the run.
