LIRA: The police in Lira City West Division are investigating the sudden death of a 30-year-old man.
Francis Bonny Okello, a resident of Wigweng cell, Barogole ward in Lira city West division was on Monday 12 discovered dead in an aluminum workshop.
The deceased was sleeping with two other friends in a workshop according to the LC1 chairperson of Wigweng Cell Mr. Patrick Ojok.
Ojok says Okello was a drunkard alleging that even on Sunday 11, he was seen drinking.
He says the deceased came home early on Sunday while drunk but later on Monday 12 at around 3PM and he was heard by neighbors making noise however, upon checking on him at about 4 PM, he was discovered dead.
He further appealed to idle youth who spend on drinking to change their mindset and live responsible and respectful lives.
A fellow roommate who preferred anomnity says Okello spent the whole Sunday drinking on an empty stomach meanwhile refusing all the offered food they brought him.
He also said that Okello was looking so normal and didn't have any complain of health related issues.
Another friend to the deceased only identified as Opio says Okello now the late went into the workshop for an early nap after having some drinks but kept rejecting food citing lack of appetite.
Meanwhile, the territorial police in Lira-City West Division have now opened up a death Enquiry File regarding the sudden death of Mr. Francis Bonny Okello.
North Kyoga Regional Police spokesperson, SP Patrick Jimmy Okema confirmed the incident noting that a case file of DEF 05/2023 has been opened to support investigations.
Okema appealed to anyone who has information that can support investigation to share with the police so that the cause of death can be established.
